At Thursday’s Board of Education meeting, Superintendent McKersie announced that there has been a foundations established in honor of Emily Fedorko, the rising GHS junior who perished in a boating accident this summer.

McKersie said that on Saturday, the Arch Street Teen Center is putting together a vigil and a benefit to raise money for the foundation, the Emily Catherine Fedorko Foundation. The event is September 20, 2014 from 7:30pm to 8:30pm in Roger Sherman Baldwin Park.

“Those who knew Emily know she was a young girl full of joy, full of life, vibrancy and we have to build forward in Emily’s memory.”

On Sept. 7 GHS Connections outgoing leader, Elias Frank posted on the group’s Facebook page:

What happened to one of Greenwich’s own is truly a tragedy. But one thing we as a community have proved is that we can come together and offer our support in numbers to those who need it. If you know the families involved please send a message but if not just send out your thoughts, prayers, & best wishes to those involved.

Even the fatal accident on I 95 today shows how life is too short & one can’t plan anything. So please take a moment today to give your loved ones a hug, & tell people that matter to you how much you appreciate them!” – GHS Connections, Elias Frank

Earlier this month Elias announced the next co presidents of GHS Connections are Auj Nibster & Liam Tracey. The next Vice Presidents are MadisonSquare Garden, and Paulie Koch
