Garthwaite is best known for his landscape paintings that are both realistic and abstract. His use of gold leaf, inspired by fourteenth and fifteenth century Florentine art, helps to capture changing light and movement.

Carole Sorokin, curator of the Gallery described Garthwaite’s paintings as breathtakingly refined and elegant.

Garthwaite has had over 50 one-person exhibits, group shows and his work is in many public and private collections throughout the world.

The opening reception is Thursday, June 27, from 6:00-9:00pm.
