- NO SAT at GHS Jan. 23. According to a post on the GFP Facebook page, Board of Education Chair Laura Erickson writes that the SAT is postponed until Feb 20. Students will need to print out a new admission ticket.
Update: Friday 12:0opm. All Greenwich Public School buildings are closed Saturday, January 23 and Sunday, January 24 – including the SAT Exam at Greenwich High School. All activities using GPS facilities are cancelled.

A snow storm is approaching and a blizzard warning in effect for coastal Connecticut and the tri state area.
Greenwich’s emergency management director Dan Warzoha said he is most concerned about winds and their impact on the shoreline because they will coincide with full moon and high tide.

On his weekly Ask the Selectman show on WGCH 1490am, Peter Tese said the town is transitioning its phone system over the weekend, and there may be glitches.
Tesei said the town’s main number remains the same, and that during the storm, residents should call the Public Safety Dispatch Non-Emergency Number (203) 622-8003 with issues, or 911 in a true emergency.
The major Nor’easter is anticipated to arrive in Greenwich after midnight on Friday night, and increasing winds will make temperatures feel like single digits.
Snow will start Saturday around 4:00am, and will be heaviest around 7:00am on Saturday, with 6″ – 12″ of snow anticipated for Fairfield County, and possible flooding at time of high tide.
Winds are anticipated to hit 50-60- mph in addition to the blizzard conditions, which mean white outs, diminished visibility and poor travel conditions.
Residents are advised to stock up on essentials – bread and milk, of course. But, also prescriptions, ready-to-eat foods and pet food. Prepare in case you lose power.
