Many people in Greenwich know Florio Tiramani who went through Greenwich Public Schools – Parkway, CMS and GHS. Tiramini now lives in Oregon after joining the Marines and studying at UConn Stamford.
Tiramani plans to participate in The Found Charity Ultra, a backyard-style ultra marathon taking place on Sunday, Oct 4 in Bend, Oregon.
It takes place from sunrise to sunset to benefit Street Dog Hero, a Bend, Oregon-based rescue that pulls dogs off the streets in Oregon and abroad and helps them to go on to live their best lives.
Florio, who now runs a dog-running and pet-care business irunyour.dog, (we love the concept of picking up a dog, running him/her and returning them happy, healthy and tired) plans to run from sunrise to sunset on Sunday, Oct. 4 to benefit Street Dog Hero.
Florio expects to cover 50 to 70 miles over the course of 12 hours.
He won’t run any of it alone. Each 2.5-mile loop, he will run with a different former street, every one of them once homeless, now adopted and living their best life.
Supporters pledge per mile, and every dollar goes toward getting more dogs off the streets and into homes.
The run goes from sunup to sundown: 7:06 a.m. to 6:40 p.m Pacific Time (Eastern Time is always three hours ahead of Pacific Time).

“I have worked with dozens of rescues, across the country, and none of them hold a candle to Street Dog Hero. The work they do by both rescuing dogs off the street, and putting on massive spay/neuter clinics around the world, with a small team, on a tight budget, is unmatched,” Florio said. “Donate knowing every penny will directly impact/save a dog.”
