Every Year, the Greenwich Youth Cheerleading League (GYCL) joins the Greenwich High School Cheerleaders at half time on Youth Day to celebrate these incredible athletes and programs.
The Greenwich High School Varsity Cheerleading Program has risen to the top with a triple crown win in 2025, taking first place at FCIACS, first place at CT States and crowned Champions of New England Regionals. They were named Connecticut’s Team of the Year for 2026.
This year, the Greenwich High School Cheerleaders will be giving the full gameday experience to future cardinal cheerleaders! They will be serving PopUp Bagels, teaching cheers, doing hair and giving out bows and poms. The event starts at 10:30am at the Greenwich High School Gym and concludes at 12:00 noon at Cardinal Stadium.
GHS Cheer is excited to host future cardinal cheerleaders from all five GYCL teams, including the Banc Raiders, Cos Cob Crushers, Glenville Mavericks, North Mianus Bulldogs, and Putnam Generals, as well as GYCL’s Greenwich United Competition Team and many youth across Greenwich who have never cheered but are interested in learning more about GHS Cheer.
*Please note that all GYCL cheerleaders are invited for free to join the GHS Cheerleaders at half time as part of Youth Day. This breakfast and get ready event is a separate event and the cost is $50.
