Patrick McCann, President of the Mary Bush Society of the Children of the American Revolution (CAR), joined First Selectman Fred Camillo after he signed a proclamation designating this week as Constitution Week.

This week marks a Nationwide Celebration of the 239th Anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of America, which was approved September 17, 1787.
The Children of the American Revolution is the oldest and largest national patriotic organization that promotes love of country, duty to the community, American History, government studies, appreciation of veterans and conservation.
This year the organization is commemorating the United States’ 250th anniversary through nationwide service initiatives, historical preservation projects, and public events.
The local group is having a membership drive which is open to those under 22 years of age who trace back to a patriot or person giving aid to the American Revolution.
Genealogical research help will be given to those who are uncertain, and all are welcome to join the local group by contacting [email protected].
