Greenwich Police are reminding drivers about the rules when approaching a school bus.
“As our students head back to school, keeping them safe is a responsibility we all share,” police said.

It is illegal to pass a stopped school bus when its red signal lights are flashing. Drivers must stop and remain stopped until the red lights are no longer flashing and the bus resumes movement.
When you see flashing amber lights, slow down and prepare to stop. They indicate that the school bus is preparing to stop to pick up or drop off students.
Children may be entering, exiting, or crossing the roadway, so please put distractions away, be patient, and never attempt to pass a stopped school bus.
