Local Radio Host Launches “Happy Hour with Ashley” to Spotlight Community, Food, and Entertainment

Ashley Wilson is launching a new radio show, “Happy Hour with Ashley,” on WGCH 1490 AM, bringing listeners a fresh and engaging look at local dining, nightlife, and community culture.

The show will air on Wilson’s birthday, April 14, 2026. The time slot is Tuesdays, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm.

Wilson’s show will focus on connecting audiences with the best places to eat, drink, and enjoy live music, while also highlighting the voices behind these experiences.

Each episode will feature interviews with chefs, bartenders, musicians, restaurant owners, local organizations, community leaders, and nonprofit groups.

According to her bio on WGCH.com, Wilson was born and raised in Greenwich, and she graduated from UConn.

On the pageant stage, she earned titles like Miss Caribbean, Miss New England, and Miss Congeniality for Miss Connecticut.

“Off-air, I’m deeply rooted in my community, working with organizations like The Grieving Den and serving as a foster mom to over 20 children since COVID. My faith keeps me centered, my community keeps me inspired, and my two boys they give me purpose,” Wilson said in her bio.

“Happy Hour with Ashley” aims to support local businesses and foster a stronger sense of community by showcasing the people and stories that make the area unique.

“I wanted to create a platform that not only recommends great places but also tells the stories behind them,” Wilson said. “It’s about bringing people together and celebrating everything our community has to offer.”
