State Police Warn of Fake Texts Demanding Payment and Claiming to be from “Connecticut State Police Court”

Connecticut State Police are warning the public that if they receive a text claiming to be from the “Connecticut State Police Court” or “Connecticut Superior Court,” DMV, or any government agency demanding immediate payment or threatening suspension of your license or registration — do NOT click the link or reply.

• Government agencies do not send payment demands through random text messages.

Suspicious links (especially shortened or unusual URLs) are a major red flag.

Scammers use urgency and threats to pressure quick action.

What to do:

• Do not click the link or reply

• Report the message as spam

• Verify directly through the official state website

Stay cautious and share this to help others avoid falling victim.
