Indivisible Greenwich Announces “No Kings” Rally Set for Saturday at Havemeyer

Indivisible Greenwich announced that a “No Kings” peaceful protest and rally in Greenwich is set for Saturday, March 28 at 2:00pm in front of the Havemeyer building on Greenwich Avenue.

The rally is intended to be part of a mass nationwide mobilization to protest the second administration of President Donald Trump.

It is projected to be one of the largest protest events in U.S. history.

Indivisible is part of the No Kings Coalition, which also includes the ACLU and 50501. The protests aim to oppose actions deemed authoritarian, including immigration policies.

Last October, a No Kings rally in Greenwich drew over 1,000 participants to the lawn outside the Havemeyer building, where speakers included Congressman Jim Himes who represents CT’s 4th congressional district, attorney general William Tong, and Governor Ned Lamont.

At the October rally, Lamont talked about ICE. “Get your damn masks off. What are you so afraid of, ICE? We’re saying you’re not allowed in our court houses, you’re not arresting anybody. Please, get your kids to school. Tell them they can get to school safely. We have people at every front door at the schools if ICE shows up, saying, ‘Not here in Connecticut. Not allowed.'”

Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont urged the large crowd outside the historic Havemeyer building on Greenwich Avenue to ‘Stand up for your rights.” Oct 18, 2025

“We will not stand idly by while the President deploys federal forces to our streets, using them against, and killing, his own people. This is bigger than political disagreement. This administration has defied our courts, deported American citizens, disappeared people off the streets, commandeered our Department of Justice to exact retribution on perceived political enemies, coopted universities, and slashed services, among other things, all while enriching himself, his friends and billionaire allies,” said Nerlyn Pierson, one of the founders of Indivisible Greenwich in a release.

“Whether you’re outraged by attacks on civil rights, skyrocketing costs, abductions and disappearances, the gutting of essential services, or the assault on free speech, this rally is for you,” said Pierson.

Speakers include CT Attorney General William Tong, Senator Richard Blumenthal, CT State Representative Hector Arzeno (D-151), Rep. Jim Himes, and members of Indivisible Greenwich.

The rally in front of the Havemeyer Building (290 Greenwich Ave in Greenwich), will be followed by a short march for those who wish to participate.

According to the release, a commitment to nonviolent action is a core principle of all No Kings and Indivisible Greenwich events. All hosts and participants are expected to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with their values.
