NWS Special Weather Statement: Snow “Up to 3 Inches Possible” Wednesday

A special weather statement was issued by the National Weather Service at Wednesday morning for all of southern Connecticut.

“Snow currently moving through the area may come down briefly heavy at times, reducing visibility to 1/4 mile or less. Accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are expected, with locally up to 3 inches possible. When encountering the heavy snow, slow down, use headlights, and leave extra room between you and the car in front of you,” the NWS statement said.

On Wednesday snow should fall in Greenwich mainly before 10:00am with a high near 40° – and wind chill values between 20 and 30. Southwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than 1-inch possible.

Thursday, there is a 20% chance of snow after 1:00pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 38°. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. Northwest wind around 6 mph. Thursday night, a 20% chance of snow before 1:00am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 23. Light northwest wind.

Friday is forecast to be mostly sunny with a high near 37° with calm winds.

Saturday mostly sunny, with a high near 44°.

Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 38°.

Monday a 40% chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 28°.

Tuesday a 30% chance of snow. Partly sunny, with a high near 33°.
