Greenwich Schools: Central Middle School Campus Update, Oct 1, 2025

On Wednesday Greenwich Schools shared an update on the construction of the new Central Middle School, a two-phase, 21-acre campus project.  The new school building is being constructed in phase one.

September Look-Back
● Substantially completed steel structure and detailing
● Continued exterior envelope framing and sheathing
● Continued installation of roof systems
● Started interior framing and MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) rough at the 2nd floor
● Continued SOG (slab on grade) placement at the lower level
● Installed storm and sanitary utilities in the site
● Continued underground MEP installations at lower level

October Look-Ahead
● Continue exterior envelope at lower level
● Install exterior AVB (air and vapor barrier) and windows
● Substantially complete roofing systems
● Continue Interior framing and MEP rough throughout
● Perform site utility installations at “utility corridor”
● Substantially complete SOG placement at the lower level
● Substantially complete underground MEP installations at lower level

The project has also received temporary exemptions to the Town’s noise ordinance, permitting Saturday morning work and holiday activity when necessary. These exemptions are submitted monthly when needed.
