HERMANN: How Can Camillo Commend Ron DeSantis?

Submitted by Don Hermann, Greenwich

Shame on you Fred Camillo.

This is a biggie, Fred. This decision could determine your future getting reelected as First Selectman of Greenwich.

Apparently you went out of your way to commend Ron DeSantis for doing “a very good job in Florida and for having a “backbone!”

So Fred what you’re saying is that you agree that not having the full story about Slavery and the Holocaust in our Libraries and Schools is not only acceptable but mandatory.

Black Lives Matter cannot be an issue discussed in the classroom. Background and motivations for critically important events will be doctored.

Historians will now take a back seat to politicians like to determine what children read and learn. Who they pray to. Sexual orientation of people. What women do with their bodies.

Control. The vote. DeSantis has gone to great lengths to make voting difficult for minorities. Apparently there are plenty of money people ready and willing to throw big bucks DeSantis’ way. What are you gaining from this? A little stature with these people? Perhaps some cash for your campaign? A learning experience about control?

You know as well as anyone that one of the ways executives get judged is by the company they keep. And support.

You also know that Ron DeSantis comes out of the Trump playbook of communicating. Fake this. Fake that. Act tough. He has a thing about looking big. He uses fake inserts in his boots to add several inches to his undersized frame. He equates looking big with importance.

He also seems to have a hang-up with the Gay Community.

Freud said that perhaps men who are most opposed to male homosexuality have particularly strong homosexual urges for other men. Is that what the fake boosters are all about?

This is not the Fred Camillo of Greenwich we all knew.
