Celebrating Constitution Day in Greenwich

On Sunday, September 17th , our nation will celebrate the 236th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution.

While July 4th is the day we celebrate our independence, it was not until 1787 that the Constitution was signed by 39 brave delegates at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. This document defines our democratic principles and values that govern us today.

The Town of Greenwich will observe this important anniversary with the First Selectman
declaring a proclamation on September 17 at 10:00am, at Town Hall, 101 Field Point
Road.

The Horseneck Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will have free copies of the Constitution for all attendees.

Please join your Town officials and neighbors for this brief but important ceremony.
