During the pandemic, people are finding themselves with time to clean out closets, drawers, basements, attics and garages.
Weeding out? What better time than to donate to the Greenwich High School Outreach Club’s textile drive.
Residents can drop off unwanted clothes, shoes, belts, bags, towels, bedding, and other textiles behind GHS. (Look for a big green bin.) Torn, stained, or broken, they’ll take them in any condition. Items will be recycled as affordable options or cloth rags.
Each pound of donations benefits the Harris Project and the environment.
The drive runs from Nov 30 to Dec 23.
Each year 21 million pounds of textiles go into US landfills.
The Harris Project raises awareness about COD (Co-occurring Disorders) and the relationship between one or more mental health challenges and substance misuse and addiction.
