Executive Deli Gives Back to the Community during Coronavirus

Kevin Allmashy at Executive Corner Deli & Catering in Byram is offering pickup and a whole lot more these days.

“I’ll be giving out free masks to the Food Service workers in town that I hear don’t have one,” Allmashy said on Sunday, a day he is not typically open. “I’m open with full groceries here.”

Allmashy has also been passing out free toilet paper to customers in the neighborhood as he operates despite the pandemic as an “essential” business.

Since Greenwich Library closed, Allmashy no longer operates the cafe there. And he is waiting to hear if his bids are accepted for the Island Beach concession and Byram Park/Pool concession.

In the meantime, Executive Deli is offering take-out, walk-in service with a 6 ft barrier inside, and a grab-and-go area for prepared items including microwavable containers of meatballs, mac-n-cheese, Marinara sauce, soups, containers of cream cheese, sour cream, salads, even the deli’s popular Texas Chili – all to go.

“We now have a grocery area and are even selling raw meats for home cooking, sliced chicken cutlets, Italian rope sweet sausage, pasta, eggs, and milk,” he said.

“Now I’m wearing a mask, changing gloves after each customer and handing out sanitizer wipes for handles,” he said. “There is a maximum of five people allowed in the store at a time, though that’s not been an issue because service quick.”

Allmashy asks customers to call an hour ahead for larger orders. Other options are UberEats or Doordash for delivery service. Also, Grubhub pick up is available for local orders.

“It’s best to just call us for curbside and swipe a credit card on the street or walk in to pay,” he said.

Executive Deli is open at 229 Mill Street in Byram. Tel. (203) 531-8087
