Tense Argument on Grange St Results in Disorderly and Drug Charges

On the morning of Oct. 19, Greenwich Police responded to 911 call on Grange Street stemming from an incident in which a female subject involved in a dating relationship with Rashid Naim Slade, 22, of 54 Centre Ave in New Rochelle had felt fearful for her safety.

Greenwich Police reported that, following “a tense argument” the woman asked Slade to leave the apartment. Slade allegedly refused to leave and  caused damage to the interior of her apartment. Becoming fearful for her safety, the woman exited her apartment and called 911.

According to police Slade opted not to provide investigators with substantive information about the incident. The woman sustained no injuries, but the apartment was damaged.

Slade was arrested and his knapsack was transported to the criminal processing area at Greenwich Police headquarters, where marijuana and a blunt were discovered inside. He was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Mischief in 2nd degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana under 4 oz and posted bond of $1,000. He was assigned a court date of Oct. 20, 2014.
