North Mianus School Field Trip Ends with School Bus Incident

2 rows of school busesatGHSA notice from Greenwich Public Schools Wednesday afternoon reported that a school bus carrying North Mianus School 4th graders and chaperones stopped suddenly to avoid a collision with another vehicle.

The bus was returning to school from a field trip on Wednesday. As a result, the students and chaperones on board the bus were jostled, according to Kim Eves, communications director at the BOE.

The Greenwich Police (GPD) report that based on an initial assessment, there were no apparent or serious injuries. However, GPD and GEMS at the scene determined that the full busload of students and chaperones should go to the hospital for examination as a precaution.

North Mianus School Principal Angela Schmidt contacted the parents of the students on board the bus.

Mrs. Schmidt and Deputy Superintendent Ellen Flanagan went to Greenwich Hospital to supervise the situation.
