Anthony (Buzzy) William Monick Sr., 76, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2015 in Greenwich. He was born to Dominick Monick and Mary Santora Monick of Greenwich.

Anthony graduated Greenwich High School in 1958 and was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 478. He spent his career employed by Cecio Brothers Construction. Post retirement he worked closely with his son Anthony of M&M Lawn Maintenance on a part time basis.

Anthony was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. He was married to the love of his life, Maria Joan (Sabia), for 54 wonderful years where they enjoyed each other’s company, taking in movies, spending time traveling, and dining out together.

He was a vibrant, gentle and loving man who looked forward to spending time with all family members and friends. He loved attending as many events that his grandchildren participated in and rarely missed a baseball game, football game or school function where they were involved. He also enjoyed playing golf at the Griff with his sons, nephew and friends.

He is survived by his wife Maria Joan Monick and their two sons Anthony Monick Jr. (Sandi) and Stephen Monick (Nelly), as well as four grandchildren Stephen Monick Jr., Zachary Monick, Marisa Monick and Sara Monick. He is also survived by two brothers, Nicholas Monick and Martin Monick, Sr. (Katherine), and predeceased by his brother Dominick Monick and his sister-in-law Mary (Dolly) Monick.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Francis Walsh, Dr. James Brunetti, Dr. Marcus Mayus, Dr. Alexander Delvechio, Dr. Michael Marino, and Dr. Stephen Bauer. The family would also like to thank everyone at Davita Dialysis in Stamford and the King Street Rehab.

Visitation will be held at Castiglione Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 from 3:00-8:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 9 am at Sacred Heart Church 95 Henry Street, Greenwich. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 399 North Street, Greenwich.
