Greenwich Public Schools’ Old Greenwich School Assistant Principal Abby Ostruzka announced that she has accepted a position with the Clinton Public Schools as Assistant Principal for the Lewin G. Joel, Jr. School, effective August 2018.
“It has been an absolute privilege and honor to be an educator in my hometown for the past six years,” Ostruzka said. “I consider myself blessed to have this opportunity to work with such talented leaders, teachers, parents and students. The Old Greenwich School community will always hold a special place in my heart. I will miss my colleagues here, but look forward to new challenges in my career.”
An educator for thirteen years, Ms. Ostruzka has been with the GPS since 2012.
“It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Ms. Ostruzka over the last six years,” said Old Greenwich Principal Jen Bencivengo. “Her dedication to the students and staff at Old Greenwich School is incomparable. I wish her all the best and look forward to the possibility of some long distance collaboration as she moves to her new community in Clinton.”
A Greenwich High School graduate, Ms. Ostruzka received the New Alliance Bank’s Teacher Excellence Award in 2008 and was a finalist for New Haven’s Teacher of the Year in 2010. Ms. Ostruzka received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Special Education (2004), and a Masters of Arts in Education (2005) from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT. She received a 6 th Year Diploma in Educational Leadership from Southern Connecticut State University, in New Haven, CT in 2009.
