New Principal Announced for New Lebanon School

Superintendent of Schools Ralph Mayo has announced the appointment of Alexandra Bartholomew as the Principal for New Lebanon School, effective July 1, 2019. Ms. Bartholomew is currently Principal of Anderson & McGrath Elementary School in Grand Blanc, MI.

“I am incredibly excited and honored to be joining the New Lebanon School and larger Greenwich community,” Bartholomew said. “I look forward to getting to know and partnering with our families, students, and teachers as we build upon a fabulous legacy and look toward the future.”

Ms. Bartholomew has a successful track record of implementing targeted strategies to close opportunity gaps for students, supporting and retaining teachers, and partnering with families in the education of their children.

Her grandfather brought his family to Greenwich in the 1960s and her father and uncle attended the Greenwich Public Schools. She is excited to live and work in Greenwich and to reconnect with family friends.

“Alexandra is an experienced building administrator who brings a wealth of knowledge of instructional practices, professional learning, and school improvement planning to our school district,” Mayo said. “Each of these skills will support the work that is currently taking place at NewLebanon School.”

Mayo said the programs and wrap-around services Bartholomew has initiated have helped to improve academic achievement and the overall climate of her school. “We are very excited that she will be joining our leadership team and I look forward to helping her transition to her new position in July,” he added.

Administrative candidates are selected after a comprehensive search and appointment process, which includes widespread recruitment efforts, multiple interviews, and extensive reference and background checks.
