Greenwich Superintendent Appoints Robert Hibson as New Library Media Services Program Coordinator

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jill Gildea announced on Friday the appointment of Mr. Robert Hibson as the Greenwich Public Schools Library Media Services Program Coordinator, effective Monday, August 21, 2017.

Mr. Hibson is currently an Instructional Technology/Media Specialist with Lyme-Old Lyme Middle School in Old Lyme, CT with 14 years of experience in educational technology and library media services.

“I am excited to begin working with the instructional staff and administrators in helping to realize the Vision of the Graduate for the children of Greenwich,” Hibson said.

Deputy Superintendent Dr. Ann Carabillo said, “Mr. Hibson brings an extensive knowledge of current practice and research in the field of technology and library media programs. His expertise, combined with his passion to have an affirmative impact on teaching and learning with staff and student learners, will have a positive influence on our blended learning environment. We look forward to working with Mr. Hibson on our ongoing implementation of the Greenwich Public Schools Strategic Plan.”

The Library Media Services Program Coordinator provides leadership in the development and implementation of the school library media program based on accepted standards and coordinates the development of a technology related curriculum.

Administrative candidates are selected after a comprehensive search and appointment process, which includes widespread recruitment efforts, multiple interviews, and extensive reference and background checks.
