Admiring Julian Curtiss fifth graders’ artwork. The students planned and created Doodle Motif Vessesl using a modified coiling method and carving. Student created a character and used that character as an inspiration to design a motif for the piece. Using loop tools, toothpicks and other carving tools students carved away the negative space to leave their design in relief. The color of underglaze used makes a personal connection to their idea.
