GHS Cheer’s 16th Annual Fashion Show Fundraiser Set for Saturday at Fairview Country Club

The Greenwich High School senior cheerleaders will continue a tradition this Saturday, Nov 11th with a fashion show fundraiser.

This year they have partnered with Fairview Country Club on King Street for a beautiful venue.

The event will feature the cheerleaders modeling the apparel from Mixology in Rye Brook an LoveShack Fancy from Greenwich Avenue.

Both those businesses will donate outfits for the girls to wear and will have tables set up at the event to people can shop.

The football players, per tradition, will wear their best khakis, button-down shirts with letter jackets as they escort the cheerleaders down the red carpet to model their attire.

There will be passed beverages and hors d’oeuvres, plus a silent auction, raffles, a 50/50 raffle and prizes.

The cheerleaders have several coaches, starting with head coach Julie Vyskocil, who said that on Saturday the cheerleaders will reprise their crowd-pleaser, a dance to Rockin’ Robin that they perform at Homecoming and the Thanksgiving game.

There are  three other coaches, including JV coaches Nicki Capalbo and Katherine Eryne. The freshman coach is Sidney Ambrosio.

“This will be a great night to honor the eight senior cheerleaders and senior football players who escort the girls down the runway,” Vyskocil said.

Tickets are $75 ahead of time or $80 at the door.

All funds raised will go to support the GHS Cheerleading program. Coach Vyskocil said funds raised will help offset expenses during the upcoming competition season.

Vyskocil who is in her third year as varsity head coach said her first year, the team came in second in the state.

“We hope to get back there – we have to place top 3 in the state – and advance to regionals, which are held right outside of Srpingfield, MA.,” she said. “The fundraiser will help to hire a tumbling coach, maybe new mats, as well as buses and hotels.”

“We’re very excited to gear up for competition season,” she added.

Vyskocil said the silent auction features foursomes at Fairview Country Club, foursomes at Woodway Country Club, massages, private yoga lessons, one-on-one personal training sessions, and a lot of gift cards for local businesses.
