Woman Known to Greenwich Police Charged with Larceny and Trespass

On the morning of April 14 Greenwich Police responded to 99 Greenwich Avenue, the address associated with CVS, on a report of an unwanted person on the premises.

Investigation revealed that an attempted larceny had occurred and that the accused, Shawana Smith, 48, of 1800 Putnam Ave, the address associated with the Hyatt Regency in Old Greenwich, had allegedly packed a cardboard box with merchandise from the store. In addition Smith had also been advised a month earlier that she was prohibited from entering the business.

Smith was arrested and charged with Larceny 6 and Criminal Trespass 1.

She has a date in Stamford Superior Court on June 4, 2020.

Smith is known to Greenwich Police. She was arrested for an incident at the same store last month and charged with Larceny 6 and Criminal Mischief 3.

Prior to that she was charged with Larceny, Burglary and Criminal Trespass in September 2019 following an incident at a local yoga studio.
