Trio Conspired to Pass Counterfeit $100 Bills in Greenwich

On Dec 14 Greenwich Police plainclothes officers on patrol downtown spotted a vehicle known in connection to counterfeit activity in other towns in Connecticut.

Shortly after,  a Greenwich business in the area of Mason Street reported that two men were attempting to pass counterfeit bills.

Plainclothes and patrol officers detained three suspects.

Their investigation revealed the trio had conspired to pass a $100 bill for a $25 worth of merchandise.

A search of the vehicle of one of the men, Keshon Phillips, 22, of Newark, New Jersey revealed 16 additional counterfeit hundred dollar bills, several fake IDs with Philips’ photos on them, a counterfeit debit card and a counterfeit social security card.

Also arrested were alleged co-conspirators Etienne Jahsaan, 22, of Brooklyn, NY and Levell Burnett, 22, of Newark, NJ.

Each of the men was was charged with 17 counts of Conspiracy to Commit Forgery 1, 17 counts of Forgery 2, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 6, two counts of Forgery 2, two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Forgery 2 and Forgery 3.

For each man, bond was set at $50,000, which none were unable to post.

They share a date in Stamford Superior Court on Dec 29, 2023.
