PHOTOS: Greenwich Fire Dept Makes Quick Work of Dingletown Chimney Fire

On Friday morning, Greenwich firefighters responded to a chimney fire at 105 Dingletown Rd.

“The response from the fire department was incredible! I’ve never seen so many pieces of equipment in one place, wrote Gary Silberberg, whose house is next door. “Not only about six fire trucks, including the ladder truck, but also two tanker trucks with with 4,500 gallons each, an EMS vehicle, and numerous command vehicles including Chief Siecienski‘s,” Silberberg wrote. He pointed out that the fire hydrants stop at Dingletown.

Silberberg said firemen were sent into various parts of the house including the attic and up the extension ladder to check the roof and chimney.

“But it appears that all’s well that ends well.  In the past, if your house caught fire you didn’t call the fire department, you called your insurance broker,” Silberberg wrote. Amen to that!
