At CVS Man Who Reeked of Pot Had Edible THC Fruit Gummies and Pot in Car

Charles William Walters, 39, of 212 CR361 Rensselaerville, NY was arrested on Dec 9 by Greenwich Police.

On Friday around 6:35 pm, officers were exiting CVS on West Putnam Ave after performing an unrelated investigation when they smelled marijuana.

The CVS store manager directed police to a man who had just left the store and was getting in a red Jeep Patriot with New Jersey plates.

Officers approached the man, later identified as Charles Waters, who smelled of marijuana.

Mr. Waters admitted he had an ounce of marijuana inside a bag in the Jeep center console.

On the front seat, police also found a large bag of gummy fruit snacks containing THC.

The fruit snacks were in six separate bags containing equal amounts, leading officers to suspect it was packaged for distribution.

The total weight of the contraband was over 1 ounce of leafy substance suspected to be marijuana and over 1 kilogram of the gummy fruit snacks containing THC.

Walters was charged with Possession of Marijuana Under 4 Ounces, Possession of Marijuana over 4 ounces, and Possession of Marijuana over 1 Kilogram with Intent to sell.

Walters bond was set at $300, which he was able to post. He has a court date in Stamford Superior Court scheduled for Dec. 16, 2016.
