Man Arrested after Attempting to Make Fraudulent $400,000 Wire Transfer on Greenwich Ave

Justin Saul Jones, 42, of 105 West Main Street in Westminster, MD was arrested and faces multiple charges after an incident at Citizen’s Bank at 53 Greenwich Avenue on Wednesday morning.

According to Greenwich Police, multiple units were dispatched to Citizen’s Bank on a report of a white male attempting to make a potentially fraudulent wire transfer.

On scene investigation determined that Mr. Jones was indeed attempting a fraudulent international wire transfer for approximately $400,000 using a forged Pennsylvania driver’s license under another name.

Mr. Jones was charged with Forgery 1, Criminal Attempt at Larceny 1, Criminal Impersonation, Identity Theft and Interfering with an Officer. His bond was set at $250,000, which he was unable to post.

He was assigned a court date in Stamford Superior Court on May 17, 2017.
