Greenwich Police Officer Recognized for Keen Eye While on Overnight Patrol

On December 5, Captain Kraig Gray recognized Officer Christopher Wallace for his diligent patrol and keen observations that resulted in the recovery of a stolen vehicle, the arrest of an offender, and the furtherance of ongoing investigations in a rash of vehicle thefts from the region.

Back on November 2, at about 3:00am, Officer Wallace was on routine patrol in the eastern section of Town when he observed a vehicle stopped along the side of the road with its lights on.

As Officer Wallace approached the car, a subject was observed running from an adjacent yard and get into the vehicle.

The vehicle then turned its lights off and sped away from Officer Wallace in reverse.

The vehicle crashed a short distance away and two subjects were observed running from it.

After a brief search of the area, one of the suspects was located and arrested. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen from another jurisdiction.
