On Dec 5 Greenwich Police went to Nassau County Correctional Center in East Meadow, NY to extradite a Long Island man who was wanted on the following charges:

Attempt Larceny 3, Identity Theft, Criminal Impersonation, and Forgery 2.

According to Greenwich Police, back in August 2018 the suspect entered a bank on West Putnam Ave masquerading as a customer and attempted to withdraw money from that person’s account. Bank officials thought that Crane’s behavior was suspicious and contacted police.

Crane fled prior to police arrival, but after intensive investigation, police gained the identification of a suspect, John Crane, 57, of 1 Village Green in Patchogue, NY, and obtained an extraditable arrest warrant.

On Wednesday, Mr. Crane was transported to Greenwich where he was processed.

Mr. Crane was unable to post his court set bond of $200,000.

He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Dec 19,2 018.
