Greenwich Fire Dept and Police Rescue Man from Mianus River

On Saturday, Sept 22 at about 12:38am, Greenwich emergency services workers responded to the area of Mianus River after a homeowner reported hearing a man yelling in Spanish while swimming the water.

According to Police Dept Lt Slusarz, members of the fire department and police got into a boat and attempted to rescue the man who was about 20 yards out into the river. GEMS also responded to the incident.

Slusarz described the man as uncooperative.

“The guy didn’t want to get on the boat,” Slusarz said. “He finally got on the boat.”
