GPD: Woman Charged with Bank Fraud Had Pills, Resisted Arrest

Plainclothes Greenwich Police officers working in the area of Greenwich Avenue observed suspicious activity at a local bank on April 4. Patrol officers and plainclothes officers detained the suspect, Jenna Moloney, 30, of Yonkers, NY.

Investigation revealed that Moloney had presented a fraudulent Pennsylvania Driver’s License with her own photo and a fraudulent credit card with the victim’s name in an attempt to impersonate the victim and use their personal identifying information to attempt to cash a stolen check for $1,479.56.

Moloney then intentionally provided false information to facilitate the escape of her co-conspirators who were later stopped by Yonkers Police Dept.

Greenwich Police added that a search incident to Moloney’s arrest revealed an assortment of 12 pills and capsules which were determined to be controlled amphetamines.

Moloney was charged with a dozen counts of Possession of Controlled Substance, Criminal Attempt Larceny 4, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 4, identity Theft 3, Conspiracy to Commit Identity Theft 3, Criminal Impersonation,Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Impersonation, Forgery 2, Conspiracy to Commit Forgery 2, Forgery 3, Conspiracy to Commit Forgery 3 and Interfering with an Officer/Resisting Arrest.

She was unable to post the required 10% of her $5,000 bond.

She was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on April 19, 2023.
