Police Charge Woman for Stealing Wine Bottles from Gingerman, Attempting to Hide Them in CVS

On Monday afternoon Greenwich Police responded to CVS on a report of a larceny that had jut happened at Gingerman Restaurant in which the suspect went to CVS.

Police met with the arrestee Melissa Chalmers Oltran, 52, of Greenwich, who was hiding in the bathroom.

Investigation revealed that Ms Oltran had stolen four bottles of wine from Gingerman, walked into CVS and tried to hide them behind sunscreen.

She was placed under arrest, brought to police headquarters and was charged with Larceny 6.

Due to the arrestee’s intoxication in the cell block, police made the decision to issue her a misdemeanor summons. GEMS Medics responded to the cell block and transported Ms Oltran to Greenwich Hospital.

She has a date in Stamford Superior Court on May 6, 2024. She was released on a promise to appear in court.
