GPD: Autopsy Scheduled for Wednesday for Homicide Victim

Greenwich Police continue to investigate the discovery of a homicide victim in
the Town yesterday February 5, 2019.

The victim, an apparently adult female between the ages of 18 and 30, was found in a suitcase with her hands and feet bound in a wooded area adjacent to Glenville Road.

The at-scene investigation had the road closed in both directions until about 4:00pm.

Police say they recognize that the extended road closure created significant inconvenience for many people. “We appreciate the patience and understanding that the public had during this difficult situation,” police said in their statement released mid day on Wednesday.

In addition, numerous leads were obtained from the public which has been productive. Police continue to encourage anyone with any information to call them on Greenwich Police Tip Line, (203) 622-3333, or contact us via email at
[email protected].

Police say they continue to follow-up on all leads and are currently focused on making a positive identification of the victim.

An autopsy is scheduled for later on Wednesday, which may provide additional information on the identity of the victim and the cause and manner of her death.
