GPD Arrest Bank Fraud Suspects from New Jersey

Greenwich Police arrested two New Jersey men on Wednesday in connection with an incident at a bank on Greenwich Avenue.

Police said plainclothes officers working in the area spotted suspicious activity and were able to detain and positively identify two co-conspirators.

Investigation revealed that Zackery Rosario, 29, of Newark,  presented fraudulent documents (a counterfeit Connecticut Driver’s License and a fraudulent Social Security Card) detailing the victim’s name and personal identifiable information in an attempt to fraudulently open a business checking account in the victim’s name.

Rosario was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 6, Criminal Attempt Larceny 6, Identity Theft 3, Conspiracy to Commit Identity Theft 3, and Criminal Impersonation, Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Impersonation, Forgery 2 (2 counts), Conspiracy to Commit Forgery 2 (2 counts), Forgery 3, and Conspiracy to Commit Forgery 3.

Rosario was able to post his $10,000 bond and is due in court in Stamford on Jan 29, 2025.

The co-conspirator, Eliakim Joseph, 31, of Orange, NJ, was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 6, Conspiracy to Commit Identity Theft 3, Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Impersonation, Conspiracy to Commit Forgery 2 (2 counts) and Conspiracy to Commit Forgery 3.

Mr. Joseph’s bond was set at $25,000 which he was able to post. He is also due in court in Stamford on Jan 29, 2025.
