Earlier this month a federal grand jury in New Haven returned a 10-count indictment charging Kierra Blount, 34, of Stamford, with bank fraud, identity theft, and mail theft offenses.
At the time Ms Blount was being sought by law enforcement.
This week Stamford Police and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service arrested Blount on her outstanding federal and state arrest warrants.
She was charged by the State of Connecticut with Failure to Appear 2 and by the USPIS with Bank Fraud, Aggravated Identity Theft, and Unlawful Possession of Stolen Mail.
Stamford Police said that when they and the USPIS attempted to stop Blount in her vehicle, she fled in her vehicle and then on foot.
Blount was additionally charged with Engaging Police in Pursuit, Misuse of Marker Plates, Failure to Obey Traffic Signal, Failure to Obey Stop Sign, and Interfering with an Officer.
Blount is being held under house arrest in North Carolina and has an ankle monitoring bracelet to ensure she does not violate her conditions of release.
Stamford Police thanked the members of the community who assisted in locating Blount.
