DUI for Driver Stopped for Speeding in Cos Cob Hub

On Jan 12 around 8:45pm, Greenwich Police observed a motor vehicle speeding in the area of Cos Cob Firehouse, reaching 55 mph in the 30 mph zone.

Police stopped the car and determined the driver, Alexander Young, 49, of Broad Street in Stamford had the odor of alcohol. Mr. Young failed to perform field sobriety tests to standard.

A breath test later revealed Young’s blood alcohol content (BAC) was .145 – in Connecticut, if a driver’s BAC reaches 0.08% or higher, the person is driving while intoxicated.

He was charged with Speeding and DUI, and was released after posting a $250 bond. Young has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Jan 28, 2019.
