Arrests Made by Greenwich Police Following Fight in Byram Park

On Thursday Greenwich Police shared an update following the news of a fight among a large group of juveniles and young adults in Byram Park  after hours Tuesday night that sent a female victim to the hospital.

In a statement on the Greenwich Police Facebook page on Thursday they said Detectives from the Community Impact Section had identified all the subjects involved in the fight at Byram Park.

“All subjects involved will be arrested and referred to Stamford Superior Court,” police wrote.

In a statement from First Selectman Fred Camillo posted on the Town of Greenwich Facebook page there was a bit more information

“As First Selectman and as a citizen of our Town, I was appalled at the video that was shared on social media of the fight that occurred at Byram Park the other night. As always, violence of any sort will not be tolerated in the Town of Greenwich.

“I have been in contact with the Greenwich Police Department and I want our residents to know that five of the suspects have been identified and that two have already been arrested with three arrests pending. The GPD’s Patrol Division, the Special Victim Section and its Detective Division have all been involved in investigating this incident and will continue to do so.”

The fight was recorded and ultimately was circulated on X (formerly Twitter) by Yankee Tea News and Libs of Tiktok.

Greenwich Free Press does not publish depictions of violence for several reasons including that it can re-traumatize victims. Also, children have access to Greenwich Free Press.

Witnesses and others with information on the incident are being asked to call Det. John King at (203) 622-8052.
