Greenwich Police announced that they were investigating an assault that took place in Byram Park on Tuesday.
According to a statement from Captain John Slusarz, on Wednesday around 8:25 p.m. Greenwich Police responded a report of a large group of juveniles and young adults who had gathered in the park after hours.
“As the group was being disbursed, officers located a teenaged female who had been the victim of an assault. The victim was transported to a hospital where she was treated for minor injuries,” he said.
Slusarz said detectives quickly learned that the assault was video recorded and that the video was distributed on social media.
Detectives from the Community Impact Section are currently working to identify the suspects involved in this incident.
