Another Unlocked Luxury Vehicle Vanishes in Greenwich

On Monday, April 27 around 9:30am police received a report of a stolen car.

A 2017 Mercedes Benz GLE 350 went missing from Weaver Street in Glenville.

It was taken from a residence in the overnight hours.

The keys had been left in the vehicle.

Police have warned residents repeatedly not to leave valuables in their cars, to lock them, and bring the keys inside.

Last week, Lt Mark Zuccerella reported that six cars had been stolen in Greenwich between April 24 and 26, including a Jeep stolen from Bowman Drive and a Mazda was stolen from Stanwich Rd.

Someone attempted to steal an Audi on Keofferam, but failed. A Ford was stolen from Indian Head.

Two other cars, a Jetta stolen from Meadow Rd in Old Greenwich and a Mercedes stolen from Rockland in Old Greenwich, were both recovered in Bridgeport.

Not including the Mercedes stolen on the 27th, 34 vehicles have been stolen in Greenwich; 27 of them recovered. Five cases have been closed by arrests when the car was recovered. All were stolen by juveniles. The other cases remain under investigation.

There were 47 Larcenies from motor vehicles, and Zuccerella said all but a few were juveniles looking for keys.
