Greenwich Schools PTA Council Honors Volunteers with Essence Awards

On Tuesday morning a large group of Greenwich Public Schools PTA volunteers gathered at town hall to honor nominees for the Essence awards. This year there were an unprecedented 16 nominees.

Greenwich P&Z Mulls GCDS Proposal for Staff Housing and Expanded Daycare

The GCDS Schwarz Campus is 41.5 acres in the RA-1 zone and the school does not receive any FAR bonus for educational use. The Schwarz Campus at 23 Fairfield Road was originally part of the F.A.O. Schwarz estate, which goes all the way to Cardinal Road. Even if the school added the requested units, they would still have remaining FAR, but the discussion revolved around the proposed multi-family apartment building in the RA-1 single family zone.

Connecticut’s November Races Come Into Focus as Fazio Nominated by GOP to Challenge Lamont

Ryan Fazio won the Connecticut GOP nomination to challenge incumbent Democratic Governor Ned Lamont. Republicans rallied behind Fazio after New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart suspended her campaign following news of her alleged misuse of a city issued p-card, and Betsy McCaughey dropped out of the race after failing to secure enough delegates to force a primary. Democratic Governor Ned Lamont is seeking a historic third consecutive term. Both Senator Fazio and Governor Lamont call Greenwich home.

Snow is on the Way for Monday

Oh snap, the National Weather Service is forecasting another storm for Monday. The winter weather advisory begins at 5:00am and is expected to stay in effect until 7pm Monday night. Tonight there is a chance of rain and sleet before 2am, then a chance of rain, snow, and sleet between 2am and 3am, then a chance of snow after 3am. This year marks Anne Beaty’s 14th year producing and directing SuperShow at Central Middle School and the energy still burns.
