Stamford Fire Dept Rescues Kayakers after Kayak Overturns Due to Wind Gust and Choppy Waters

The Stamford Fire Dept reminded recreational boaters and kayakers to look ahead at weather conditions on Long Island Sound prior to going out on the water. Conditions inland can be drastically different out on the water. Saturday’s Long Island Sound conditions called for a small craft advisory, wind gusts of 25-30 mph and the water temperature at 43 degrees. Continue Reading →

Community Pantry at GHS: Meeting the Students Where They Are

PTA volunteers Jennette Leal and Maureen Harper were busy before spring break sending students home with fresh produce and items like bags of beans and rice their families can use for meal prep. The community pantry at GHS was originally started by Folsom House administrator Andrew Byrne and assistant dean Laura Boyd to help about 40 students.
