Rasal, a beloved harbor seal at The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, who passed away yesterday at the remarkable age of 40 — making her one of the oldest harbor seals in human care. Rasal was nationally known for her Super Bowl predictions, but here at the Aquarium, she was so much more: a leader, a teacher, and a symbol of resilience. During her 20 years at the Aquarium, she inspired thousands of guests, helped train generations of animal care staff, and led her fellow seals with intelligence, grace, and courage.
