Rota: Vote Row B on Nov 4 to Keep Greenwich a Great Place to Live

Submitted by Adele Rota

Dear Editor,

The proliferation of scams is such a sad commentary on society. If only these brilliant criminal minds that continuously work to find new and more devious ways cheat people could be put to use for the common good.

A recent serious and lesser known scam around the country is title fraud. Where criminals actually steal the title to what for most of us is not just our single most valuable asset but also our home.

Jackie Budkins our Town Clerk has recently launched a Property Alert System – a free service that warns residents about potential property frauds for Property Records recorded in the Town of Greenwich.

While it hasn’t received the level of press coverage something this significant warrants, you can read about it in First Selectman’s Fred Camillo’s weekly newsletter to Town Residents: Community Connections from Fred. If you don’t already receive it, I encourage you to check it out, it provides a wealth of information on all aspects of what is happening in Town. Here is a link:

I commend Jackie Budkins for making Greenwich one of the first municipalities in our State to provide this service. This is one of the many reasons she had earned my vote to be re-elected Town Clerk.

Fred Camillo and Lauren Rabin have also earned my vote to be re-elected, they are genuine (real) leaders who have proven track records of keeping our mill rate the second lowest among large municipalities in the state, forged many successful public private partnerships saving taxpayers millions of dollars, ensuring Greenwich is one of the safest communities not just in Connecticut but also in the United States, increasing affordable housing in Town by 15% and fighting tirelessly against the Democrats in Hartford who see our Town as their ATM machine and have put forth legislation to take away all local control of zoning which will have an irreversible impact on the characteristics that make Greenwich so desirable. All of what I’ve stated is factual and you can easily confirm it.

If you value all of the things that make our Town a great place to live and want to keep it that way, please join me in voting row B.
