On Saturday Metro-North announced on Twitter that an “unauthorized person on the tracks” had been struck by a train at Cos Cob station.
The original information did not detail the person’s injuries, just that the person had been struck by the train and taken to a local hospital.
Since Saturday, the update was that the person had fallen onto the tracks from the edge of the platform, but managed to sustain only non-life-threatening injuries after three train cars rolled over him without touching him.
According to according to a MTA spokesperson the person is a male, 25, who was seen “laying between the tracks.”
He was taken to Stamford Hospital.
The incident resulted in trains being delayed and single tracking between Cos Cob and Stamford. By about noon trains were on or close to schedule.
