Metro-North Service Briefly Delayed Saturday Morning after Person Struck by Train in Cos Cob

On Saturday morning a person was struck by a train in Cos Cob, causing Metro North to limit New Haven line service to Grand Central.

According to Metro-North around 7:30am, a train at the Cos Cob station traveling from New Haven to Grand Central Station was delayed for reports of an “unauthorized person on the tracks.”

The person was taken to a local hospital and an investigation was launched.

The incident resulted in single-tracking between Cos Cob and Stamford and a delayed service.

Initially delays were up to 35 minutes. By noon the trains were operating on or close to schedule.

Authorities had not released any details on the injuries to the person who was struck as of publication time.
