‘The Griff’ Hosts Major Golf Championship

The Griffith E. Harris Golf Course was recently honored as the host site of the 71st annual MGA Public Links Championship.

Jonathan Jeter of the Nassau (County New York) Players Club took the championship from a starting field of 66 competitors. The Griff also hosted the event in 2004.

The oldest public links championship in the country, the MGA Public Links Championship has been held on some of the most prestigious public courses in the nation, including Bethpage Black, site of the 2002 and 2009 U.S. Opens, and nationally ranked facilities such as Richter Park in Danbury and Hominy Hill in Colts Neck, New Jersey.
