Athena Books is expanding to downtown Greenwich.
The independent bookstore in Old Greenwich, co-owned by Jennifer Bird and husband, Odysseas Kostas is located at 228 Sound Beach Ave, having opened in 2021.
The new location will open in the space between Bruce Park Sports at 104 Mason Street and the Katie Fong Collection at 60 Lewis Street.
The new book store, in renovated space that is also be a stone’s throw from Black Forest Bakery, has a new blue awning and a lot of buzz on Instagram, where the book store posted: “We are excited to announce that in the coming weeks, Athena Books will be opening a second location on Lewis Street in downtown Greenwich!”

The post said that over the past five years, the warmth and enthusiasm of the community had been inspiring.
“We are incredibly grateful for your support and can’t wait to open another Athena gathering place, where readers and neighbors can come together, discover great books, and exchange thoughts and ideas,” the post said.
Commercial realtor, Diane Roth of Allied said she anticipates Athena Books will be a gathering place for readers and neighbors alike.
