It has been a long journey for the Greenwich YMCA Marlins swim team. Six years ago, Head Coach, Connie Wu started building a team with a handful of swimmers. Now, the team is made up of almost 200 swimmers at novice, junior and senior levels.
On Tuesday, the Greenwich Marlins announced that Alex Jahan, 17, made the Olympic Trial cut swimming a 2:18.38 in the 200 breaststroke at Junior Nationals in San Antonio, TX. Teammate, Quinn Scannell, 17, also qualified and attended Junior Nationals with Jahan, swimming the 100 and 200 backstroke.
From there the duo and head coach flew to meet 18 other Marlins swimmers at the 2015 Long Course Y Nationals Championships in Indianapolis. Seven swimmers are 14 and under who are attending Y Nationals for the first time.
